Sansevieria trifasciata Laurentii is probably the most recognisable and popular Sansevieria houseplant with its mottled grey-green leaves and creamy-yellow margins.
The HydroCare version is considered virtually indestructible and an excellent choice for all situations. It’s tall, architectural presence and warm colouring ensure this Sansevieria stands out from the crowd. Often called mother-in-law’s tongue, it might be one for the guest room.

Horty Hints
Bright and beautiful! Pop your variegated Laurentii in a brightly-lit location to encourage that ‘wow’ colour factor.
Squeaky clean! Make sure to wipe the stems of your Laurentii regularly to remove any dust and help maximise its air purifying powers.
Shabby but fabby! Scarring can occur on your Laurentii’s leaves, this is completely normal and adds to its stunning shabby-chic appearance.
Light
The Laurentii does best in moderate to bright, indirect light environments, but can also adapt to low light conditions if preferred.
Watering
Keep an eye on the water meter. Water when the meter has been on minimum for 14 to 21 days. Check out our HydroCare set up guide for more information.
Temperature
The trifasciata Laurentii is happy in places with temperatures between 15°C and 23°C and can tolerate temperatures as low as 10°C for short periods.
Humidity
This Snake Plant will do fine in normal household humidity. Avoid humid locations but if brown tips develop, consider occasional misting.
Feed
Add a Hydroculture liquid feed every 2 to 3 waterings during the spring and summer months.

Sansevieria trifasciata Laurentii is slow-growing and typically reaches an ultimate height of around 75cm to 1m.
